Howdy of Great Avatar and Grand Master of the Whole Damn Universe and ma good friend, Brahma Dung Ananda!

It's me Cletis from Big Springs, Texas and I mighty proud ta once again make your acquaintance! Even if it is on this new fangled internet. I was driving my Chevy pickup outside of town and I stopped for a while and took a hankering to mosey down through the sage brush and mesquite. I was a following this here cow path and stepped directly into a fresh cow pie! It got me to thinking and I was a wondering about this here 'Path' thing.. Sharing, my California cutie, mentioned that she read in that New Age Newspaper, you know that free one, said that we should be a making progress on the path. I was wondering, what does it mean to be 'on the path' and how do I know I am making progress if'n I don't know where I'm a goin? And if your on the path to enlightenment, do you still step into cow pies?

Yours in Truth and Faith, Cletis.

Greetings Cletis,

I must say, your greeting really made quite an impression on me. I read your letter and pondered it for quite a while. It is only because of my superior intuitive and psychic powers and the invoking of that spirit guide from another foreign land, who calls himself 'Jose Cuervo', that I was able to interpret your foreign language.

Answering your questions is part of my outreach to send my light and Truth to such foreign third world countries such as Texas. Tell me, is Big Springs the capitol?

Anyway, to address your question I must first invoke the spirit guide... Aiiee Carumba! Yes! I see it all now! But wait, it's fading.... That is the trouble with these spirit guides...

Ah yes, it is all coming back to me now. Indeed we are all on a path. The question is, where is it going. The answer is, no one knows! The thing seems to be in avoiding stepping in the cow pies and especially falling face down in one... Boy! Is that no fun! It is the nature of this path that sooner or later we all seem to find ourselves stepping into... cow pies. I have come to find a certain bliss in this situation.

I once talked to an Hindu herdsman. He pointed to the cow pie and said, "Some call this shit! I call it fertilizer!" Being that he was as drunk as I was at the time, I didn't pay it much attention, but later I have come to see the beauty of this socially handicapped alcoholic. Remember, the paths lead the cows to fresh watering holes and green pastures where they get really fat. Try not to think about what happens to them after that!

I am Brahma Dung Ananda and I have spoken!
