Brahma Dung Ananda

Greetings World!

I am Brahma Dung Ananda, wandering sadu, yogi, enlightened master, holiest of holies and even considered by many to be an avatar! I would go on but my humility prevents me from continuing.

I have traveled the highways, byways, pathways and occasionally the alleyways of this existence. I first became enlightened back in 1968 while reading a “Zap” comic and simultaneously ingesting some herbal enhancements.

Most recently, it was divinely ordained that I found myself being guided to the west wing the Lila of Rama ashram where faithful servants of God tended to my needs.

It is a wondrous place where I am definitely at home. They provided me with excellent living quarters and occasionally food and even money. My presence went unnoticed at first, but today I was awakened by my servants. They stood in disbelief as they gazed upon me.

I immediately assumed the lotus position and informed them that I was enlightened and that I welcomed their karma of providing for my needs.

They immediately retreated to a corner of the room where there was much lively discussion about me. They were truly concerned uttering phrases like, “What are we going to do with him?” and “This must be some sort of test for us to look a little deeper into ourselves.” One said something about cleanliness, hosing off, and a bathrobe. They finally approached me and said that I could stay for the time being, but that I must not touch anything and that they would bring me food so that I would no longer have to eat their lunches or take their stamp money.

Then a couple of the men escorted me out to the rear parking lot and had me strip down. They then performed a holy purification and baptismal ritual with a garden hose and then burned all my clothes! I have never felt so free! There I was as naked as the day I was born and all of my impurities had been either washed or burned away. I was presented with their acknowledgment of my new status as resident guru with the presentation of a beautiful multicolored terry cloth robe and taken back inside. I thanked Eternity for placing me in such a wondrous place!

Editors Note: We here at Lila of Rama ashram have indulged Brahma Dung Ananda because of our collective confusion about his sudden appearance in our ashram. In fact, there are some of us who believe that he is just a bad hallucination caused from the long hours of hard work on the site. The rest of us, the more lucid ones, have decided that he seems harmless enough and there is also the possibility that he may, in some quirky way, actually be enlightened. In the mean time he is being housed in the west wing of the Lila of Rama ashram in the janitors closet. Actually that is where he was hiding out until we found him and he had already made the place into a miniature apartment. He insists on referring to us as his servants... I suppose that in truth we are all servants of the Dharma. For his lessons in humility and innocence, Brahma Dung Ananda's name be praised!
