Ground Goodness |
I moved this up from another Thread -- it was too embedded and easily missed.
But if I were to have a poke at goodness in the world, I would say that there is intrinsic goodness, extrinsic goodness, and Ground goodness. Intrinsic goodness is the goodness a thing has in itself. Extrinsic goodness is the goodness a thing has for others. And Ground goodness is the goodness that all things have by virtue of being manifestations of Spirit or Being.
Intrinsic and extrinsic are relative values; Ground goodness is absolute. Ground goodness is the goodenss that each and every being has by virture of being a radiant manifestation of Spirit, of Godhead, of Emptiness. All beings, high or low, have the same Ground goodness--namely, Emptiness. Beings can have greater or lesser intrinsic goodness, but all beings have absolutely equal Ground goodness: they all share equal Suchness, Thusness, Isness, which is the face of Spirit as it shines in manifestation, Being in all its wonder. |
