Fun on the way to Enlightenment! |
For those of you who have sat with Rama, and those of you who are now sitting with Rama the first time, I'd like to share a fun (and challenging) meditation practice that I stumbled across in a meditation session I had with fellow Rama students last year. I often thought to share it on this Board, but got hijacked by life every time I tried to post it. Here it is, though - it's a wild ride, I'll warn you, but for those of you who are at ease with the concept of Enlightenment, it could change your lives. You might want to print this out the first couple of times till you get the routine down.
First - go into the white light. Sit and meditate and let yourself become the white light. Got that? Cool.
Now go into the clear light. We've all done that a million times. Sit and meditate and let yourself become the clear light. Awesome!
Finally, just go into the gold light. We all know how to get there cuz Rama showed us how. Sit and just go into the gold. Hold it for as long as you need to, and then go back into the white light.
Hold your being in the white light until you become it, hold yourself there for as long as you need to, then go on to the clear light.
Hold yourself in the clear light as long as you need to until you become it, then let go to the Gold light and become the gold light.
Repeat: white light, clear light, gold light. Try to sit at least a half hour a day doing this. Tough in the beginning, I agree.
After a week or two of this (or a month, or six weeks, whatever, nobody's watching) try this next challenge one day when you're feeling DANGEROUS!
Sit and start your meditation session when you feel your power is up (gals, this is usually 3 days B4 your period happens) do the white light, clear light, gold light for a couple of times or more if you need, and -- and -- and -- then, when you feel you're ready (like a baby crow leaping from her/his nest for the first time) (FWIW - initially I focused on my teacher Rama when I felt I was ready to make this jump)try to:
BECOME the white light; the clear light; the gold light - simultaneously - yep - all at once! HOLD to each state of mind simultaneously (sounds hard, but actually is about as natural as breathing! What a surprise it will be!
When you're comfortable with this consolidated state of ming, let go of that state of mind totally. Just be THIS. THIS (in Zen talk) mostly means the commingling of all of the above planes of awareness.
This technique is very, very powerful. Please don't try it unless you're a daily meditator and are very skilled at sharp turns. Like snowboarding, or investing in the stock market, if you aren't ready for an unexpected result, better not to set up the adventure. No money back refunds on this folks. :-)
