And a lot of these selves seem to be born out of circumstances, or a reflection of
them at least.
Like with different friends... we seem to be different shades of selves around
different people. The terminology we use, references, slang, etc... it all changes
color (sometimes slightly, sometimes more) depending on who we are around.
Not in a false, put upon way.
Just like, the self you wear around an old friend from college is going to behave
and speak a little different than the one you wear around, say, your mother.
So it's as if some of these selves (if not every last one of them!) are mere
reflections, like a wandering mirror reflecting whatever it encounters. |
