The shittiest job in the world... |
...has got to be being part of the squadron of U.S./British troops assigned to comb the wreckage of the recently-bombed complex in Baghdad for the remains of Saddam & Sons.
Why? "Bunker Busters" are, by definition as far as I know, Depleted Uranium weapons (DU is used because of its weight to penetrate to a great depth underground before exploding). Therefore, the whole complex is almost certainly full of U-238, which has a half-life measured in millions of years.
On the other hand, there are a lot of Iraqis currently without food or water, so we could probably get them to do it for us cheap.
Something to think about while sitting in front of a computer terminal doing nerd work and pondering other forms of employment... :-)
