Vietnam Protests |
Neo I am against this war. I feel it is like Vietnam. Rama protested against Vietnam and he said you would draw a great deal of hate doing that. Rama told us the 60's were over-rated and only about 5% of the people were "hip" and aware of the Vietnam war's sinister nature. I was a kid then, maybe the washed-up hippies on this board can comment on the Vietnam era.
I think one can practice Zen and regard this war to be a travesty. Many liberals *and* conservates are against this war. So your quote was rather irrelevant. Are you to imply that a Marxist or a Republican would do worse in Zen than a boring middle of the road new-age type such as yourself?
I think Rama meant something deeper from those words than your literal and jejune interpretation. Are you trying to marginalize Buddhists who are vigorously against this war? I'm hurt.
