Re: take two - can anyone explain this quote to me |
I sent in the quote, so I went and looked at the notes I took it from - August 91. Rama was starting up the software program again - for a much more limited group of people. He explained this was for yoga - for erasing the self. The following year, he mentioned, we would be moving into commercial software projects, which would be done very differently and for different purposes (our businesses, $ not yoga).
Anyway he was commenting about why he pulled the educational and game software projects (the year before, yes?). They were meant to clear us out but there was so much inappropriate energy - so much ego - that instead of improving our karmic profile, we were making it worse.
So the example in the conversation which seems to match what the metaphor was indicating goes like this: "On the other hand, the thing that we did not see, and still haven't seen, is the complete correspondence between our lack of growth in the career and business arena since he pulled the software. Our personal careers and businesses stalled at the point when he pulled it. If he had not pulled the software, it would have only gotten worse, however, so he did the right thing."
So while we were only looking at the outward ripples, Rama was pointing out to us the inward ripples.
- Not sure if this makes it better or worse. It is a thought-provoking quote. |
