What inspires you? |
Back in the day, Rama regularly gave us suggestions on items/movies/activities that he found to be inspiring for that time. It was helpful to have someone who regularly scouted out "what was hot".
Now that he isn't around in the physical, it is up to us to find those openings in the Force. Of course, in the right state of mind, anything can be inspiring. However, occasionally we come across those activities/objects that help to get in touch with the light and bring a smile to your face. He taught us all how to "see", so I figured everyone has found a hidden treasure at some point. Sometimes it is something new - sometimes it is rediscovering something we haven't done/read in a while.
In regard to activities, I have found dancing to be really helpful. Particularly ethnic dancing (that doesn't require a partner). For example, African dancing or traditional Indian dance. Rama talked about dancing a lot and it's relationship to Eternity. In this ever-darker world, it's fun to move your body around and feel the rhythm.
For the past several years, I have found great inspiration in "Sacred Path Cards: The Discovery of Self Through Native Teachings by Jamie Sams. These are Tarot-like cards with a Native American sensibility. They have card layouts and a book where you look up the meaning. I have used them much like an I-Ching reading. The readings are usually insightful and interesting, and the vibe feels clean. As a bonus, you also learn some Native American philosophy!
What have you found to be inspiring?
