What would Rama say about censorship politics |
What would Rama say about the politics of censorship by the .org's dedicated to his teachings?
There are enough freedoms being eroded every minute, as we read and write these postings, that we don't need censorship on the Ramalila message board.
V2's post regarding ERI was interesting, informative and accurate.
The censorship of any one of Rama's students thoughts, is completely inappropriate and unacceptable. A person's point of view, whether it is biased or not, is sacred in a free county and that is exactly what the bill of rights was founded on.
Through censorship you run the risk of becoming worse than the Roman's who crucified Christ and heavily edited Christ's teachings. This resulted in the elimination of rights for women, since women were edited out of the bible, and gave the green-light to thousands of priests who bugger each other and abuse hundreds of thousands of children worldwide in the name of "God."
What would Rama think if he were here? He would never condone using political power to limit the free speech of any individuals, let alone that of his students.
The means that you employ to achieve your goals, is what creates negative karma for you and your organizations. The means do not always justify the ends. The mission statement of ERI to support Rama's teachings worldwide, is a good one. However a few bad apples have seriously derailed their efforts. V2 isn't the only one who has mixed feelings regarding ERI, nor is he their only victim.
To remedy the situation, this board should immediately repost what V2 honestly wrote about the politics of ERI and vow never, ever to censor the thoughts of another one of Rama's students on this board again!
What if Rama were to anonymously post to this board, would you honestly even be able to tell? How would you know what his message would truly be at this point, except controversial, as the Dharma always is as espoused by any enlightened being!
How would Rama urge you to limit the erosion of your freedoms, under the limitations of this psycho Bush Administration?
Although the truth sometimes hurts, Isn't the truth always best.
Isn't that the Dharma? |
