Subject: Sangha Fellowship, another jewel in the Triple Gem
In the litter of dragon eggshells that seemed to have broken open here during the night the mention of White Mountains prompts a memory...

While we have told stories about some bright moments with Rama, the Teacher is only one jewel in the Triple Gem.

White Mountains brings to mind a story about some sangha members, another jewel in the Triple Gem.

I have no cool prizes to offer, but it would be a neat thing to see stories about some of our bright moments with fellow students.

This is one of mine:

During the time I was living in the Boston area, I usually worked 2 jobs especially once Rama was holding seminars in LA so I could fly out as my day job as an entry level programmer was paying even less than I had made in the upper ranks of the word processing temp agencies...

At one point, my second job was a waitress at a Howard Johnson's, the only place in my local area that had openings on shifts that fit my weird schedule. I was not an especially good waitress and the opening section of The Terminator where Sarah is having a bad day with customers is one I definitely laugh at as I can relate!

One shift, to my great horror, I saw the hostess seat two fellow students sit down in my section. They had no idea I worked there. They told me they were returning home from a hiking adventure in the White Mountains. It was obviously a day of power for them, so my sudden appearance was an omen to them, and I knew it, and I was feeling weird to be getting looked over by occultists paying close attention to whatever signals Eternity was giving them through me.

My uniform was already mucked up from spaghetti sauce and the like and I was way frazzled and they assured me to take my time with their order.

It was a bit of an oasis for me, having them be so kind and patient, and I wished them well when they took off after paying at the cashier area. It was when I bused the table for the dirty dishes that I saw the tip and nearly dropped the dishes as the tip was outrageously large.

Inside I queried them, "What the fuck?" and inwardly they sheepishly said, "Rama always taught us to tip big on a day of power" and I knew that was true and I accepted that.

Now as the waitress, I felt a huge of gratitude come through me toward them, on a very visceral level seeing the wad of cash, and I understood what Rama had not explained to us, that the wave of gratitude from the waitress getting the large tip was amplified into their day of power...that what Rama had taught was causing them to be receiving a very bright energy to boost them...and inwardly I watched Rama then boost it even further for them because they had remembered to do the right thing, to treat the waitress like Lakshmi herself.
