This Buddh's for you... |
Here's a theory that I present here with absolutely no judgements about either its merits or lack thereof, just because it's fascinating. In a living-room discussion with a bunch of folks about current affairs, a Buddhist teacher of note suggested that the event which led to 9/11 and the mess the world has been in ever since was possibly the decision of the Taliban to blow up the two huge Buddha statues in Afghanistan. He suggested that those statues had originally been constructed to prevent a certain type of energy from entering our world. Once the statues had been destroyed, it was free to do so, to the detriment of all concerned, including the people who did it. Interesting theory, n'est-ce pas?
