Subject: Possibility of Enlightenment
Why is it so hard to believe that enlightenment is possible?????

I was surprised by your responses. Clearly a one sentence question leaves open-ended interpretations.

What I MEANT was this: I personally experienced Rama as an enlightened being. My experiences were profound, as were many of yours.

He offered you and me and his students the possibilities of immortality, as he put it. He offered us the possibilities of enlightenment.

What I MEANT was why does it APPEAR that we, as a group, are so skeptical that some of his students, perhaps an interesting number of his students, are moving into enlightened awarenesess???

Seems like the first reaction is to laugh at or challenge a person who proclaims their own enlightenment. ok ok ok. I understand that there are a whole lot of reasons to be suspicious. But we are -- I believe as a group -- skeptical. In fact, just for fun, what if I said that I was enlightened? What if I told you that I dissovle into white light, that I live in light most of the time? How would you react to me?

I am not enlightened. I just get pieces of light running through, and am happy for that. But I really believe that some of Rama's students are very advanced, and are moving into the possiblities that Rama offered, or that eternity offered through Rama.
