Correct Action |
Most of us consider ourselves American Buddhists. Many of us consider ourselves practicing occultists. Freedom, liberation, and enlightenment are words we throw around as we discuss our practice.
In spite of some obvious flaws in our political system, it is one of the systems in the world that promotes freedom. It has become an icon for freedom. And in spite of it's flawed nature, I remember Rama saying it was the best on the planet.
Having said that, and remembering Krisna's discussion with Arjuna, and Rama's promotion of martial arts, there is a time for correct action. From the correct space, with the correct intent, there is a time to fight the good fight. It is in the knowing. That is the occult practice. And while the people running the nation may not , (okay are not) practicing Buddhists or occultists, we can look at their intent.
As I watch leaders here, I have observed order brought to chaosis, compassion, strength, and unity. While I have observed anger, I have not observed hate. I do not sense that the leaders here are mirroring the consciousness of the terrorists.
This is the planet earth, it is a planet of wars. I think we all promote peace and unity. It is our way. But we have also been taught the ways of the warrior. So, perhaps as we meditate we send light to those in need, and to the leaders here. Maybe the choices made will be more conscious. Om mani padmi hum. |
