Subject: Re: NYC View
A co-worker who recently moved to NY sent me the following:
--------------------------------------------------------------
I cannot truly describe what this is like. It is horrible, shocking and surreal. Last night there were virtually no cars, except emergency vehicles. We have the ever present smell and constant visual of billowing smoke from 6th, 5th, Madison Ave, etc. People walked around dazedly, crossing streets without even looking, regardless of the signals. I saw someone roller blading down the center of Park ave. Many of us tried to donate blood but the centers were closed by 6 as they ran out of blood bags.

Tonight, a few more cars but still eerie and smoky. The convoy of military trucks moving slowly down 5th Avenue is a sight I will never forget. My colleagues here are amazing as they handle themselves and keep going while all have professional colleagues and/or friends who worked at WTC. We talk about the firms that are gone but no one talks about the people yet.
