Linear or relational |
>Would anyone believe someone, from Rama's generations of students, if he/she became enlightened<
I suspect that it will be the anyone's who first decide that someone has become enlightened. And they will probably be wrong. Then someone will decide that they are enlightened and s/he will probably be wrong. Great controversies will ensue. Meanwhile, 20 other students who have quietly been doing the practice properly will almost simultaneously reach 'it' and almost no one will suspect that anything has happened. More of their friends will quickly join them. I think it's going to be a silent wave that few will notice. Enlightenment happens.
>and stepped into the teaching infrastructures or schools of the West and East?<
Each of them will manifest enlightenment in a different way. Most probably won't even claim to be enlightened.
>Is there supposed to be a continued lineage here, or just scattered students and individual efforts to enlightenment?<
Lineage will happen because people love structures. However, lineage is linear while enlightenment is relational. Preserving the transmission of a relational object within a linear structure is the problem. Scattered groups is probably a benefit because a mistake in preserving a teaching by one group does not cause the teaching to be lost.
>I ask this to try and understand the mindset of many of the leaders, teachers, organizers, or "old" ones in this tantric path under Rama.<
The 'old' ones don't speak out about things like this much, they are more likely to transmit important info as blocks of attention. To hear them, listen to the wind. Since I'm forced to communicate with you via this board I'm clearly not one of the 'old' ones. :-)
