Sometimes I feel Rama is incredibly close, other times I don't feel his presence much at all, unless I go into a deep meditation.
A dear friend said to me that Rama said if you really need him that you must ask directly. Well, truth is I have really needed him lately, and have been jumping in there asking for his guidance and support at every meditation.
Undoubtedly he has responded to my call. Only, I believe, because it is right for me to be guided at this moment. But the ways that he makes me aware of his presence are really very cute. It is quite magical. So I'm going to share them with you.
On Saturday night I went out to dinner with friends. After a lovely dinner and a couple of glasses of red we left the restaurant, but I wasn't feeling quite ready to get behind the wheel to drive us all home, so I suggested we go into Borders bookshop for a while.
As usual, I headed for the new age/spiritual/religions section, which is a number of isles. I went straight to the "L" section to see if they had any of Rama's books in stock. The very first time I looked (a couple of years ago) they had a handful of copies, but ever since they have had none. It always makes me wonder what has happened to the people who have bought his books - did they make a huge, life changing impact on them? Do they realise that there is so much more than just a couple of books to the whole Rama thing - do they know about RamaLila? Given that no-one here has ever heard of him I sadly doubt it - but we can always hope can't we! If it is right for them, then they will find him - I doubt they have any choice :)
Well, there were no books, so a little disappointment came over me. I turned 180 degrees and looked at the Nietze titles behind me. Then suddenly I felt the need to spin around. I love this intuitive feeling I get in bookshops, I trust it impeccably. So I followed. Spun with my eyes closed, opened them, and there it was! In the wrong place on the shelf - Snowboarding! I grabbed it and ran off to show my friends. I think perhaps it was the wine, but I tell you I had this overwhelming feeling of love for Rama - I was bursting with it! All expressions of gratitude came flowing from me to him for all he has done for me. How corny :) He just felt so close - it was like he was letting me know that he was near just as I needed him.
A little later I wandered down to the Buddhist section and was looking at some books on women and tantra. My girlfriend came and stood beside me, distracting me from the titles I was glancing sideways at. And after a brief conversation I cleared my thoughts and returned my attention to the books, looking straight ahead (instead of at the tantra titles to my side). There, sitting immediately in front of me, was a book I worked on over 2 years ago. I was overwhelmed! I grabbed it in utter disbelief. After all our work they had indefinitely postponed the publishing of this book on yoga and spirituality (called "Yoga Magic"), and I had given up hope of ever seeing it. It was so exciting seeing it there - my work! WOW!
And you would not believe the impeccable timing of this! I am looking for a new job right now, and this was perfect timing for me to add it to my folio!
Rama you devil! Out there guiding me in the right direction!
It really is quite a magical thing clearing your mind and trusting your intuition, to just "see" what is there directly in front of you. It is often the perfect thing, right there just waiting. Otherwise you could have searched for hours. |
