Subject: experiences
I definitely agree.

I find that with the most awful experiences of my life that I am presented with a whole bundle of emotions to tackle and options to choose; and with time, and with contemplation (including meditation), I realise that I have come that little bit closer to understanding. Each brings me that little bit closer to God and an understanding of myself/us all/the big picture/Truth, and so enlightenment.

I become more compassionate to those whose actions have affected me, and look at the situation from a far more neutral perspective. There are definite positives that come with the negatives - it is just up to us to exercise our minds to be flexible enough to recognise these. So in the end, I can be gracious to those who in other states of mind I would view as my enemies. In the end, I actually believe that it is the most difficult situations that give us the greatest opportunities - like right now I am looking for that ultimate job!

If it weren't for these situations where we are slapped hard in the face we'd never develop that warrior spirit to move on in this journey. Strength is gained through experience, and I think the tougher we get, the tougher the obstacles (otherwise we'd get lazy wouldn't we!). So in a way embrace the torture! It is a path to our advantage.
