Subject: the things that come out of the mouths of babes
the sweet child 'o mine often astounds me, but tonight she came out with a comment that totally blew me away, and I had to leave the room for the laughter that was welling up inside me - laughter of joy and amazement, and absolute astonishment. And shock!

We were washing the dishes together - she was upset that I was doing the washing, so she said "I'll dry them" and grabbed the tea towel. As she painstakingly dried them she said "I am making them all shiny and polished" I replied "You are doing a wonderful job there. Have you done this before?" she said "No". So I asked if she had seen anyone else drying the dishes (given that dishwashers have kind of made dishwashing obsolete), she said "No". So I replied "Well how on earth do you know what to do?" She replied "From my master" I was rather taken aback and asked "So who is your master???" She clicked her tongue against the top of her mouth, moaned and looked up at the roof "God!" she said!!!!!

Whoah! I just didn't have anything to come back with after that! Like this is a child from a pretty non-religious background, and who has only been to church for christenings and weddings! I have no idea where these things come from, but she seems very matter of fact about it! Bizarre! It makes me really wonder!
