Subject: No paths are the same
Each of us has our own path. The actions that we take are beyond rationalization. Others do not need to understand why we take a certain action. They have their own experiences and views and that would cause them to handle the things that occur to us differently. They can offer us advice on how they would handle a situation but only you can choose the right course of action.

The problem comes up when we construct ideas of how things should be. The next step is to try to impose those ideas on others. Religions spring up that profess to be the true path to God. That may be so for the originators of the religion. But there is far too much diversity in the world for only one way. The ideas and semantical nonsense that we use to justify and rationalize our actions are just that, nonsense. All we can do is take action in a manner that we perceive as being correct at the moment. Rationalizing our actions later, trying to explain that our response was better then anothers response to a similiar situation or using yesterdays action to define ourselves today; are all ideas that bind ourselves to a fixed view of life. These ideas color our perception of what is going on around us and cause us to act in ways that are out of sync with the tao.

As you say, the semantics are nonsense. Putting aside the ideas and being is quite a challenge.
