Subject: The Teachings
Today after meditating, one of Rama's teachings came back to me. This is what I remember him saying as closely as I can recall:
He spoke of how in different times and places, it was common for an individual on the Path to come to see an Enlightened Teacher and ask him one question. The Teacher would give a reply to the question. The seeker would then pay his respects, and go back out into the world to live fully and try to comprehend the teacher's answer. Usually, it would take about 10 years for the seeker to fully realize and perfect the Teaching. He would then return to the Teacher and ask one more question...
This recollection took a weight off my crown-chakra, mainly because it HAS taken me 7-10 years to fully realize his teachings, and sometimes even longer, if "fully realized" at all. (My understandings also change over time, and I will see different Truths in his Teachings according to my state of mind). I have enough to contemplate and work on for the rest of my life (and maybe longer...) We were all very, very fortunate to have been given such a cornicopia of Truth and Dharma. Rama lives on through us and his Teachings.
Om Mani Padme Hum.
