A Lakshmi Mantra |
I was recently surprised to realize that some of my younger friends who studied with Rama did not know a beautiful mantra he gave out in earlier days.
He considered this one OK for everyday use. Sometimes he suggested we do it 108 times before sleeping as a way to clear out and sometimes he suggested we do 5 rounds of 108 before meditating...many Buddhist/New Age/Tibetan shops sell mala beads with a count of 108 per set.
The mantra as he taught it is
SRING...
rhymes with SING...elongate it...SRRRIIIINNNGGG...
say it very nicely. Lakshmi represents a feminine divine energy associated with purity and prosperity...she is usually depicted with flowers in some hands and gold coins pouring from others...
