A comment on a comment on romance |
If one has a self, and what that self "wants" is more important to it than anything else, then the aphroism sounds like BS. But what the self "wants," more than anything else, is to preserve itself and its illusions of importance. Gettin' dumped and realizing how dreadfully *unimportant* one is can be one of the best methods of getting over the self.
Different strokes for different folks...
