Burma Update ( Warning Karma Yoga Thread ) |
Rec'd the below from a friend who loves Burma very much and has been actively following the situation. Was requested to pass it on. For those unoffended by the karma yoga path to enlightenment :) , here goes:

BURMA OR MYANMAR?
If you are confused why some people call it Burma and some Mynamar please read this

In brief - It's known as Myanmar in many countries and at the UN. But the UK&USA doesn't recognise the legitimacy of the regime that changed the name therefore still uses the pre-military dictatorship name (Burma).
HOWEVER, that being said, it's important also to recognise that some people choose to call it Myanmar as Burma was the name given to the country during British colonization.
