Subject: Old Friends, Sad Anniversary
What a peculiar thing.

I was a student of Rama's in the early and mid 90's. I and a friend went to many of his seminars - at first skeptical, later open-minded but unconvinced, and later simply accepting that Rama's teachings were valuable, and proceeding from a heart of kindness.

It has been a long time since I thought about him with any particular depth. I've been feeling scattered and unfocused, telling myself I needed to "get in touch with my inner Jedi" - so today when I read an article about Carlos Casteneda, I remembered my kindly old teacher, and thought to look him up on the web.

Whilst reading about his teachings, being reminded of his works, his words, his lessons, I swear the words on the browser were suffused with the same kind of silvery light I saw around the man himself when he lead meditations and seminars. Most peculiar...but again, maybe it's just because of my state of mind?

And then I see that today is April 12th, the very day, nine years ago when Rama died. What a staggering coincidence! So here I am, old friends, to say hello. To hope that you've done as well as I have, and even better. And to thank Rama for teaching so much and asking so little.
