Contradictions of the Enlightened? |
I really don't see how a person can be enlightened and still "fuck up." The two cancel each other. Either that, or being enlightened is another state of mind in which even though you are aware of Infinity, you still have a limited view of being considerate to others. I don't see how that can be. Rama talks about how he judges how spiritually advanced a person is by how he treats the people around them. I sense that he was speaking from the heart and not just trying to fuck with our minds.
As I posted before, I think Rama is a contradiction. A koan. We can't judge his actions because you can't take it on face value alone. He is constantly trying to teach us a lesson. You have to discriminate the thoughts you have when dealing with him, or any other spiritual teacher. They are teaching on multi levels, so, just judging them on the physical is not correct viewing. Besides, you can't judge your teacher at all. You don't have the same Big Picture they have.
You either agree with a teacher's process of teaching, however uncongenial it might seem. You can't take just what is agreeable and disagree with other parts of the teaching. If so, then you shouldn't study with that teacher. Rama made a comment to that fact at a seminar that maybe another teacher would be more fitting to a persona and that s/he should go off and study with that teacher. He knew not everyone was going to understand and see his moves as a teaching tool.
I am aware of the reports that some women have made concerning Rama's relations. I believe some were made because 1) they were upset at Rama's aloofness and they probably thought they could trap him with their sexual powers, 2) energies exchanged might have been too strong for them to handle and it can have a negative effect on their awareness. It's a wild ride and some people can't handle it, and 3) some women just wanted to see Rama ruined. I have sat in seminars with women who openly talked about destroying him and it is just because they were possessed with evil entities.
I believe in Rama and I still hold true to the thought that he was/is an awesome teacher and only had his students' interest at heart. He was/is a different kind of teacher, "at an angle", so you can't hold him to the same methods other Buddhist teachers teach. He was/is Hi-Tech.
