Dear UT,

I'm going to share something with you since you asked.
You asked me how to tell if someone is enlightened.
I was reading your Road Trip Mind tonight for the first time.
I came across a line in your writing which sounds exactly like what my enlightened teacher just told me.
That one line was the essential theme to what you wrote in the page on the above link which Rama told you he liked more than the other stories.
I'm going to leave it a mystery for you and let you find it for yourself when you reread it because I learned something beautiful about you when I read your writing.

You don't want to know they are enlightened UT. You don't want the book to end. You want the journey to continue page after page after page. You want to not know where the road in front of you goes because the not knowing is exciting and you thrive on that sense of adventure. For you, calling Rama enlightened is limiting because it puts a last page on the book. By continuing to ask about criteria or whatever it puts you in a perpetual state of peaked curiousity. For you, the knowing is the ultimate boredom because you know you can't know and if you did, you wouldn't have any place left to look and there are so many places left to look.

I found a new path. Take your most outrageous fears/goals you have put off and grab one that's drawing you in and throw yourself into it NOW and watch everything come up, all the frustration, all the issues, etc. and yet stick with it...drag your ass if you have to, but pick up the pace when you can and watch yourself dissolve into a new person...one who is doing that which the old you put on the back burner...do the outrageous and if you're dedicated, you might start to get the joke...YOU...YOU is a joke because we think it is real until you change to a new YOU and find out that the old YOU was no more real than the new YOU is going to be when you trade it in for a newer YOU. It's more than the new places you visit...but the new YOUs that visit the same old places and/or new ones.

Keep on road tripping!

Ous,

Samurai
