Slam

I slam my body
hard
into the brick wall
of light.

I am immortal.

I am nothing.
What is shallow will dry up.
What is deep will increase.

There can be no tomorrow
When all that we have is today.

There can be no forever
When all that we have is past.

I shake myself free
The iron trap
Of life.

I will live forever
no matter how polluted.
I am free again
to love.
to meditate. to find our tomorrow.
