Winter Solstice

Winter Solstice, 2000

For the Southern Hemisphere Students: Imagine Australia, South America, etc. right now!:

Pale light of setting winter sun, the longest shadows seamless run;
Within the chamber’s silver glow, the faithful keep the ways they know.

Still-point, the silent verge, a breathless moment’s pause;
The old year fades, life’s tide has turned and beats once more to shore.

As dawn breaks cold across land, the song of life renews;
Energy flows, dark moves to light, the cycle is resumed.
