Om Mani Padme Hum
Perspective from a dude

contributed by Fellow Monk

In a private discussion Rama had with the boys.. of which many rumors and misinformation leaked to the Gals... Rama gave the boys some simple instructions:

He said that a woman of equal standing (in career / practice / etc. ) was actually significantly more advanced than the man because many past life opportunities were male-centric. In some cases, women had to sneak about to receive teachings from bigoted teachers in many past lives.

Rama explained to the men that if we wanted to learn with him, it was our job to hold open some doors for women to counterbalance the unimaginable oppression women have had to work through in countless past lives.

He said that to 'hold open a door' had nothing to do with a man's evolution or superiority-- quite the contrary! It is simply a matter of as a man, we have had it MUCH easier than our sisters and then if we really wanted enlightenment, we would be required to help offset the nonsense women had experienced and continue to experience in 'the modern age'.

Enlightenment is gained from rising above the challenges and one of our challenges as a man would be to rise above our egos and give women the same shot we have had in many lives.

He said that if we felt "more advanced" or "superior" to women, then we should look for the exit, reboot, and repurpose our intent to a more correct understanding.

Women, once they break through the layer of oppression that exists everywhere, will ROCKET forward and will often eclipse the slow steady typical male progress. And that should we sufficiently "get out of the way," we might just learn something! :-)

This is your life, I seem to remember him saying, to help your sisters. To share the the tricks we've learned, but to never get heady about what we know. Some of the brute push that men have naturally is actually thickness from the many lives of direct exposure and training with this energy.

The energy of a woman is quick, nimble, and light.

The energy of a man is slow, deliberate, and thick.

Neither is superior. They each have applications where they will be more effective. The unfortunate aspect of all this is that the quick and nimble female energy has not be rewarded for many lives because men have used every trick in the book to make women feel inadequate and to turn them against each other.

Rama stated very clearly to the boys. Don't fuck with the women. They are very strong, very powerful and when they do break through, they'll fry your ass! The best thing men can do is to be humble and to know that whatever it is we think we know has come from a very slow learning over thousands of lives... lives where women, instead of focusing on these techniques, have had to use their energy for straight survival. He said that the men who weren't equipped to assist effectively should stay out of the way!

Rama said that a lot of work was to be done and that he would assist in his own special way.

And then he sent us out to a crowd of females- most who wanted to know what had been said.... AS IF! we could ever hope to communicate Rama's clear power with sufficient accuracy.

This goes for me, too. While I have tried to stay to the letter of the topic, if something feels weird or off target in this post, please chalk it up to my inexperience or ego or bad memory... because that night... the Man was *on*.
